Best event that I had conducted. (ALTIS)
Every year, after one month of fasting, Muslims celebrated Hari Raya Aidilfitri which falls in the month of Syawal. My family and I celebrated Hari Raya Aidilfitri in the village which is situated in Negeri Sembilan. We always arrive a week earlier before the arrival of Hari Raya Aidilfitri. Every year, I helped my uncle to get in the jungle to find bamboo to make lemang for Hari Raya. Lemang is a Malaysian traditional dishes that serve rendang only in Hari Raya. I will be thrilled every time I wait for the arrival of that day because of the occasion our family will gather with other family members to celebrate this festival together.
On the first day of Hari Raya, I woke up early awakened by my mother. After I finished a bath and performed the dawn prayers. I was getting ready to wear my new baju melayu that I bought at Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman at Kuala Lumpur. After a while, my parents and I went to te mosque for Hari Raya prayers. After that, we went to graveyard to see our grandparents grave.
At the same time, I watch over the house and the kids with others members of the family. After fasting for 30 days in Ramadhan, it is time for me to enjoy all the kind of food. My parents and my untie cook all the kind of food the day before Hari Raya Aidilfitri. There are ketupat,rendang,lontong and laksa. I was eating and enjoying the day of Hari Raya.
In the afternoon, my family members from all over the places are gathered at my grandparent’s house celebrating Hari Raya Aidilfitri together. I am very happy at that time to meet all of my cousins, play and chat with them. We ate together, talk together and laugh together. It’s was so much fun. For time to time, there are some children coming hari raya at our house.
Hari Raya Aidilfitri is an interesting event because all of the mistake and hatred are been forgives and forget. Each of my family members would apologize to each other either older and younger includes my family. One thing that I like the most is my parents and relative would give me the Hari Raya money.
When night comes, we are letting off fireworks and firecrackers. The atmosphere filled with the sound of exploding fireworks. We all slept late at that night, chatting withveach other. In conclusion.I like to celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri with my family and the other family members. I also like being part of preparations and I hope I get this opportunity again. The first da of the festivals for every year is a sweet memory for me.
