THE LEADER THAT YOU IDOL THE MOST
by MUHAMMAD FAIDHY ZAHIN BIN MOHD FAIROS(018892)
Everyone has a person that they admire.
Throughout life, there’s got to be at least one person whether they be a family
member, a friend, a lover or it could even be someone you didn’t expect. To
have an idol could bring an increase of your motivation, a change of
perspectives, an alter for your mentality and many other advantages. As for me
personally, I have a few people I look up to but there was one person that
stood out the most compared to others. That person was a good friend of mine
named Hariz.
Hariz and I have been friends throughout
high school. He was part of the student council and has quite the charisma
among the students. Though, he wasn’t really the person who is blind with fame.
He was quite humble, quiet and would only interact with others to a certain
level enough to put up a good impression. There would be times when he would
get out of his way to help others even if it was unnecessary to do so. Simply
put, everyone loves him but little did they know the story behind it all.
Hariz was not that social the first time I
met him. He was gloomy, depress, doesn’t stand out, in other words a mob
character. I was probably his only friend back then. We had a similar interest
in comics and games so we got along well. Despite being a mob, he was an
unusual talent in observation. He catch on who likes who, who dislikes who,
what could’ve happen if they did this or if they didn’t do that. I asked “Why
didn’t you took any action then? Things would’ve been different if you took
advantage of this talent of yours,”. He replied with a cliché “I’m not good
enough. It might end up worse if I took action,”. I tried to cheer him up by
giving him a little push saying “So what? You wouldn’t know until you try. Fearing
the unknown will not get you anywhere in life. Besides, it’s not like what you
predict will 100% happen. The future is a mystery and if things doesn’t go your
way we finds ways and alternatives to make things work, don’t we?”.
He
went quiet but it seems he took it to heart. Ever since he started to invite me
to start exercise, going out somewhere, sometimes it’s just to get a short tea
break. While doing so we tried to interact more with the crowd even for just
something small like asking for direction and so on. It’s amazing to think back
how much he has progress throughout those hard times. Now, it’s as if he's a
completely different person.
I really admired him a lot considering how
much he has change in a short amount of time. What’s even more surprising is
that he doesn’t leave me behind despite standing in a high position. I’m glad
and proud to be his friends and have him to look up to now. During thick and
thin, we would communicate with each other, help out, laugh, fight and many
more. I’ll be sure to catch up to him so that one day we could stand side by
side with our heads help up high. Hariz. A friend, leader and an idol I admire
the most.
