He told me that he and my other teammates wanted to participate in Football League and I was very shocked and excited at the same time. The league was going to take place on July and I was very disappointed as I need to attempt for my exam. But, since the league was going to be held for every weeks for 12 weeks, I was able to join them even not every week, it still made me happy and excited. I was the one who appointed to do the registration and finding sponsors to support our team financially. It was though since I was also busy preparing for my final examination, but I still managed to do it. I was very excited as my passion and love to football is undeniably huge. I did my practice and jogging every evening in order to keep my fitness in a perfect state even though I have my final examination. I still managed to studies every night because I don’t want football to be my hindrance to become a good student.
The league started and I watch my teammates playing on live broadcast. They played well and we managed to win 9-0 on our first league games. Since that time, we became an attention to the media and other teams involved. It was a very fine game, our opponent did not have a single chances to break through our solid defence. We were like tough and solid like a Chinese Great Wall. No one could even touch the ball on our half. Week after week, we managed to win every game and standing on top of the league with pride. It was 5-0-0 that time. No one could even beat us and we were such a cheetah who competed with donkey over a 100 metre race that time
My final exam has finished and which means my semester break starting. I went to my first game and it was such a pleasure to meet all my friend that time since it’s been a while since I met them. As expected we won our sixth game in a row and I was announced as the Man of the Match. It was such an excellent game and we humbled our opponent with a 3-0 win. We were the favourite team to lift the league title until a week after that. We lost our first game of the season. It was a very tight game and the team from second place was coming for us. It was just a game of losing and our mental was breaking like pieces. I kept on cheering and give mental supports to all my teammates that we were still on top of the league and there was more games to go.
I was never expecting that we were going to drop points for a 2 weeks in a row. We lost for a second time with a score 3-2. That time, I was the one disappointed the most as i kept making mistakes and my mind was not in the game. I didn’t know what I was thinking. I had the feeling that maybe i was the one who spoiled the team as they were playing very well before I joined. Gratefully, all my teammates cheered me up, they gave me moral support and keep the focus on the next game. That night, we spent on analysing opponent games so that we could bounce back next week. I went home at 2.30 in the morning that night after the game. The passion and winning spirit shown by us really paid off as we were able to bounce back on the next game. It was hard win but 3 points were all matter that time. Even though we won we were still on the second place as our main competitor also won their games that time. We had only a few games left and were 3 points behind on the first place. Nothing else on our mind, we just wanted to win the league and need to do harder and keeps on winning the remaining games.
Week by week, we won every games available for us. Game week 9, the night everyone has been waiting for. The match between the top of the league. It was us against the league leader, Hustla FC. Everyone was nervous but excited at the same time. The match that decides the league leader. No one could blundered and everyone kept on focus during the game. Every team and all the fans cheering and rooting for the games.
The games started well. Everyone on the pitch didn’t stop running and chasing the ball. The pressure, the intensity, was numerous. Touch after touch, the game was very tight. Everyone played with careful so there would be no mistake happened that will costed us a goal. After about 20 minutes of playing, we scored a goal. A nice pass from Aiman to Hafiz put us in a lead. Everyone was cheering and screaming like there will be no other days. But, the happiness did not last long. We conceded after a few minutes after the forward from the oppositions scored a fine header into the top corner of the goal post. Everyone was stunted and disappointed with the concede. Gratefully, the goal was not counted as the forward was from the offside position. we continued to play and defence all the way as we saw the opponent kept on trying to score. We gave our everything and the defence were blocking shot after shot like Nemanja Vidic. The reference blowed the whistle 3 times indicated that it’s full time. We won with the score 1-0. We beat the league leader and indirectly we won the league.
I never felt that happy in my life. I cried a lot as if I won the FIFA World Cup. Even though it was only an amateur league, everyone hard work and commitment were paid off.
