My idol is Cristiano Ronaldo. A five times Ballon d’Or winner born in Madeira, Portugal. Everybody knows Cristano and not a single person in this world does not know him. He is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays as a forward for many big teams such as Manchester United and Real Madrid. He captains for both club and national team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest player of all time (GOAT) as he already achieve too many football awards and trophies throughout his career. Even though he is not everyone’s goat but he is my goat. He even an icon and inspirational to others. His ‘Siuuu’ goal celebration has been a worldie and have been used by most people when scoring a goal over the world
Why do I have Cristiano Ronaldo as my idol? As we all know, Cristiano is the richest football player in the world. Thanks to the millions he earns from his endorsement. But, the Portuguese superstar is also doing more than his fair share of charity work. He often helps many poor people and donates lots of money to NGOs. The Portugal captain auction his 2013 Ballon d’Or trophy for £600,000 with all the proceeds going to Make-A-Wish foundation. Not enough with that, he also opted to sell his Golden Boot and give the proceeds to charity, the funds were than used for building a number of schools in war torn Gaza.
Other than that, he is a family man. Cristiano is always busy in training and games but whenever he is off the pitch, he spends his time with his loved ones. Family is very important to him, he shows this by celebrating and appreciates the time he does get to have with his family. Cristiano is a very family oriented when he is off the pitch. Growing up, when he was about to choose football as his career, he said that it was very difficult for him as that would mean with his family, especially his mother whom he says played a major role in his successful life. His mother attends almost all football ceremonies with him and celebrate his victories.
Last but not least, his work hard and passion. Starting his career from small club like Sporting based in Lisbon followed by successful years at Manchester United, he has completely modified himself as a professsional and made a mark in football. Cristiano won his first Ballon d’Or in 2008 and after coming to the Bernabeu he was being compared to Argentine star Lionel Messi in every possible way. Even after Messi clinched 4 Ballon d’Ors in a row, Ronny never gave up the dream of being the best in the world. His hard work paid off after currently he has 5 Ballon d’Or to show case. His passion can be seen in training sessions at Madrid. After a tiring training with his teammates, Cristiano has his personal practice for 4 hours to enhance his skills and improve himself in all aspects.
In conclusion, Cristano Ronaldo is a proof that good personality and hard work can be an inspiration to others who wants to be success in life. His great mentality and dedication should be taken as a reference and a role model in order to be success. I guess there must be no doubt of me picking Cristiano Ronaldo as my role model in life. Ronaldo once said, ‘talent is not enough, you need to work hard and put a very serious commitment to what you want to achieve. Give more than 100% to it then trust me hard work will never betray you’
