The best event I ever hosted as a leader is my families Deepavali event last year . It was on the 24th of October 2022. This event is considered as our biggest family event which we normally organise on the 2nd day of Deepavali week. We’ll have barbeque, performences by kids and alderly people , a wide choice of delicious home cooked food and dance floors. My cousins collaborated with me to organise this event as it is not easy to handle alone.
We cousins work together to make the event as amazing as possible by making sure everything that makes the event perfect is there to surprise others . To make our life a little easy we cousins devide into a few groups where we handle specific tasks. So I as the leader of the mini team order group 1 to handle the decoration for event, group 2 to handle games to entertain the kids in our croud, group3 to make sure all the barbeque foods are well cooked, group 4 to handle entertainment to keep the night going for example music,mic system, performance so on and so forth.
Not to mention the most important part the event which is photography session was handled by group 5 because memories are very important for our upcoming generation to observe and last but not least group 6 which is the normal food handling group. Its important to make sure the food that is served is in fresh condition and also delicious. We celebrated this event in the biggest house we ever had which is our uncles house which has a conveniently specious hall and carpark where the event was held.
So as everything is set as planned , we planned to start the event at 7.00pm and end by 11.30pm . Our family members started to join the event right on time and some of them even brought food made by themselfs for others to enjoy and have a taste. My personal favourite was the nasi lemak made by my aunty all the way from johor. It was spicy, a little sweet and delicious. Then our aunty also brought some deepavali cookies for us others eat and some to bring back home.
Before we even started the event, some of our family members started to volunteer to perform on the stage to entertain the croud and also showoff their talents. So we took down their names so that it would be easy for us to call them up stage later once their ready to perform. All of my plan succeded as planned accept for one performance which was a small performance by myself. All of my family members wanted to see me perform something so I sang a song dedicated to my family and everyone enjoyed.
Finally the event came to an end and everyone was happy that they could meet eavh other from all over malaysia . My parents were so proud of me that I was able to pull of this event smoothly without any disturbance. I was personally happy of proud of myself that , eventhough I had cousins elder to me , they welcomed me as the leader of this event with no issue and jelousy . The event woudnt have been a success without the teamwork of my cousins. The fun part of the hole event didn’t just start when the event started, but it started when we work together to successfully organise this event. Its ture what people say , team work makes the dream work.
